THRONE OFFERED TO CHIEFS.
THEY DECLINE THE HONOUR. TANGIER, Bth April. Two of the chiefs to whom the rebel Berber tribesmen offered the throne declined the honour. Tho Grand Vizier accused Aissa, a great southern Arab chief, of cowardice. The Sultan also angrily blamed Aissa for his recent defeat. Aissa thereupon immediately withdrew, and the camps guarding the Palace struck their tents.
