LONDON MARKETS. Dalgßty and Co., Ltd., have received tho following cabled information from | ihoir London office, under date of 16th j inst. : — Frozen 'meat — Market very dull. I Lamb is to ,£d lower, except Canter- j bury. Any change in prices is likely to De in favour of buyers. Mutton is l-16d lower. Beef — No demand owing to heavy supplies chilled. Tallow — Prices in general are par 10 3d ctvt. lower. Declina is chiefly on qualities low and inferior grade 3. Buyers are holding back expecting to do bettor later on. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cablegram from their London houso under date 17th inst. : — "Frozen ""meat — The market tor frozen mutton is easier ; stocks of frozen lamb are accumulating* and the market for frozen beef remains unchanged." Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report haying held a successful clearing sale of dairy stock on account of Mr. R. J. Hall at his farm near Hay wards on the 15th inst. All tho cows were of good quality, and bidding was very keen throughout. The herd a^ eraged £8 per head, and the highest prico was £11 2s 6d for a cow close- on calving. Quotations: — Cows close to calving, £ r l 12s 6d, £9 10s, £9 15s, £10 2s 6d, £11 2s 6d; cows, later calvers, £4 30s to £3 15s; cows iv milk, £8 to £11; ppi-inging heifers, to £10 10k. A considerable quantity of farm implements and sundries v. as also offered, and brought satisfactory prices.

A meeting of tho Pkmeer Lodge will be held on Monday evening. -» The annual convention of the Sunday School Union will be held in Nelson during Easter. The Nelson friends have undertaken to provide hospitality for two delegates from pach school in the union, and it in anticipated that about sixty teachers will avail themselves of the invitation to be sent to them. The Wellington representatives will leave here on Thursday overling, 13th April, and return on Easter Monday. The quarterly meeting of the Yogeltown Residents and Ratepayers* Association will be held on Tuesday evening. Mrs. Schutze will lecture and give messages at the New Century Hull to-mor-row at 7 o'clock. On Wednesday, Bth March, at 2 p.m., Mr. P. B. Watts, of the Horse Bazaar, Dixon-etreet, will sell, under instructions from Sir Joseph Ward, the whole of hi* carriage plant and horses.
