The Wellington market has been well supplied thia week with local consignments of citrus fruit from Australia and pears from Melbourne. .Messina lemons have improved in demand, and present quotations are Ids to 15s per half case. Choice William Bon Chretien pears from jiustralia realised from 12s to 13s per bushel case, over-ripe 5s to Bs. Supplies of Island oranges which came to hand on Friday were mostly green, and sold at an aveiage of about 7s per case. Water melons from Sydney are in over supply, large selling from Is; to Is 6d, medium and small 2d to 6d each. Small shipments of nectarines continue to reach the markets from Nelson and Hawkes Bay, and values rule from 5s to 6s per half case. Half gins passions, ex Sydney steamer, sold 'from 6s 6d to 4s 6d. There was a fair enquiry for Queensland pines at 8s 6d to 9s 6d per double case. NO AUSTRALIAN GRAPES. So far no Australian grapes have | reached the local markets. Local grown are selling from 6d to lOd per lb. Choice ] peaches nave been scarce during the week, best samples quitting from 4s 6d i to 5s 6d, inferior 2s 6d to 3s 6d. Cape gooseberries are in good demand at 4id per lb. Local strawberries are selling ifom Is to Is 3d j per lb. There is a fair sale for mush- I rooms at 2s 6d to 3s 6d per packer case. TOMATOES PLENTIFUL. Very large consignments of localgrown tomatoes reach the markets daily. At tho early part of the week values ranged from 3s to 4s per halfcase, but to-day choice fruit sold from 2s 3d to 2s 6d per half -case. The market is well supplied with cucumbers which quit at Is to 2s per half-case. I Melbourne onions are selling at 7s 6d per gunny. Spring onions realise 9d to j Is per dozen bunches. Vegetable marrows are plentiful at Is 6d to 2s per sack. Choice cauliflower's are scarce, a i few sacks at the latiei part of the week selling from 10s to 15s per sack. Lettuce is in ovci supply at Is 6d to 2s 6d per case. Radish quits at 6d to 3d per dozen.
