BUTTER FOR EXPORT.
The fortnightly shipment of butter „ from Amklaiul i.o England is being made' tc-day by the steamer Corinna, which leaves Onehunga with 14,000 boxes for transhipment to the Athenic at this port. The shipment shows a decrease of 287 boxss over the corresponding one of last year, but this is accounted for (explains the Auckland Star) by the 1025 boxes of butter sent to Vancouver by the Mamari on Saturday last. Had this butter been shipped to England as usual an increase would naturally have been shown. Up to the present* 215,744 boxes of butter have been exported from Auckland this season, as against 186,140 for the same period last year. No cheese be taken by the Corinna, as it is intended to ship about 1000 crates by the Mamari. which leaves Auckland direct on the 2Sth. ,
The members of the Wellington Harbour Board have been invited by Mr. R. Fletcher, chairman of that body, to accompany him on a visit t>f inspection to the Petone, Day's Bay, and other suburban wharves, and the low level light next Tuesday morning. The trip will be made in th© board's launch, the Uta, which will start at 9.30 o'clock, and return during the afternoon.
