At the Magistrate's Court Patrick Small, a farmer at Wheats tone, was fined £5 for failing to clear Californian thistles fi'om his farm. Mr. Day, S.M., said it was the worst cass in regard to thistles he ever had before him, as the evidence showed that Sma-11 had actually threshed a wheat crop containing mature thistle seed, thus giving means of distribution of the seed.
A public mooting will be held at the IY.W.C.A. Rooms at 4 p.m. to-morrow. An organist is required at St. AugusJane's Church, Potona.
