GAZETTE NOTICES. The following notices are gazetted : — Lieat.-Golonel E. W. Chaytor to be temporary colonel whilst employed as officer commanding the Wellington district. Lieufc. -Colonel V. S. Smyth to be temporary colonel while employed as officer commanding the Olago district. The Rev. G. A. Grossman to be honorary chaplain, Takaka Mounted RiMes. New Zealand Medical Corps : Captain A. F. Bett, resigned. Opotiki Mounted Rifles : Lieutenant W. 0. Ad-dis, lesigned. Honorary chaplain, the Rev. A. W. H. Compton, M.A., transferred from the &d Regiment, Wellington (Wairarapa) Mounted Rifles, to the active list. Lieut. -Colonel J. R. Purdy, New Zealand t Medical Corps, has resigned his po&ition as principal medical officer to the Wellington district, and been appointed Dhector of Military Services, New Zealand Defence Forces., with the rank of temporary, colonel. ,The Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration has been conferred on actingCaptain C. E. Thomas, Port Guards Rifles, Timiiru (nearly 22 years' sorvice). iho meritorious service medal has been conferred on Sergeant-Major Artificers W. B. Moore and J. Trainer, Royal Now Zealand Artillery. The Colonial Force long service medal has • been awarded to Captain H. S. Batchelor, Ist North Canterbury Battalion of Infantry (nearly ik years' service), Quartermaster-Ser-geant G. R. West, B Battery, New Zealand Field Aitillery (over 20 years' service), and Private M. 0. Wellington military district : Comprising the land districts of Wellington, Hawkes Bay, md Taranaki. with headquarters at tho city of Wellington. Canterbury and Nelson military district : Comprising the land districts of Canterbury, Nelson, and Westland. and that portion of the land district of Maryborough lying to the north and the south of the Clarence river, with headquarters at the city of Christclnirch. Otago military district : Comprising the land districts of Otago and Southland, with headquarters at tho city of Dunedin.
