' MARKET -BRIGHTER THAN ON LAST OCCASION. [BY TELEGBAEH — PBESS ASSOCIATION.] 'CHRISTCHUECH, This Day. The fourth wool sale for the current season was held to-day. There was a good attendance of buyers, and, with the exception of merinos, for which the demand was weak, the market was much blighter than at the previous sale. The joint catalogues aggregated 4472 bales compared with 3227 at the corresponding sale last year. Taking quality into consideration, merino showed a drop ot" gd to |d per lb. All other classes sold on a par with the third sale, and pieces were a shade better. The following was the range of prices :— Merino, 6£d to 9|d j half bred, 6£d to ll^d; three-quarterbrcd, 6£d to 9d ; crossbred, s£d to 9^d ; long wool, 6d to 8d; Corriedale, 7£d to 10|d ; Do^n wool, 7£d to 9£d. Pieces sold as follow : — Merino, 4£d to 9d ; crossbred, 5d to 6^d ; halfbred 5d to 10^d ;- three-q\iar-terbrsd, '6£d; locks; 2d to s£d; bellies, 5Jd to B|d; emtehings, 4|d.
