CANTERBURY v. AUCKLAND. \TST TBLEGSAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. The Plunket Shield cricket match, Canterbury v. Auckland, was resumed at 11 o'clock this morning. Tho wicket was in fair order. Patrick and Bennett resumed to the bowling of Pearson and Olliffe. Bennett added two to the total, and was then clean bowled by Pearson. Seven for 245. Sandman came next, but without any addition to the score Ollifi'e bowled Patrick. Eight for 245. The retiring batsman's total of 75 was all made yesterday. T. Carlton was next man in. One run was added to the score when Pearson bowled SariSman for a "duck." Nine for 246. Carlton and Boxshall put up a useful partnership, the last wicket adding 23 runs. AUCKLAND'S SECOND VENTURE. Horspool and Smith opened Auckland's second innings. With, the total at 11" Horspool was bowled by Bennett for a single. Kerr followed. At 26, Smith was caught at the wickets off Sandman for 21. Sale joined Kerr, who was out lbw to Reese, after making three. Pearson filled the breach. Auckland's score now stands at 84 for four wickets — Hemus, not out, 29 ; Pearson, not out, 3 ; extras, 9. Hemus was bowled by Carlton when he had got 34. Five for 94.
