THE GEO. WILLOUGHBY COMPANY.

Mr. Geo. Wilbughby and his English Farcical Comedy Company are to be introduced to local theatregoers at the Opera House on Friday night by Messrs. Clarke and Meynell in George Broadhurst's farce comedy "What Happened to Jones." That Mr. Willoughby has been well advised in reviving this famous mirth-provoker is shown by the booking tit the Dresden. Mr. F. B. Sharp, a 1 Wellington solicitor, who visited Auckland whilst the company was playing there, was induced by his friend Mr. Willoughby to promise to take up his old part of Ebenezer Goodly for the Wellington season only. Mr. Sharp has taken an active part in our amateur j theatricals, and it is of interest that his one- professional appearance since he has lived here should be in a congenial role of his own creation. Miss Beatrice Day, who is starring with Mr. Willoughby, is credited with making quite a hit in the part of the Professor's wife, and has many opportunities to display "the latest in frocks and hats." The box plan for the season is now open at the Dresden.
