SCOTTISH SOCIETY OF WELLINGTON.

At the annual meeting o.f the Scottish society of Wellington held in Godber's Rooms, Cuba-street, Mr. A. B. Thomson :he president, presided, and there was a capital attendance of members. The neeting throughout was most interesting md a large amount of important busT less was transacted. The report of the jxecutivo and committee led to a lengthy iebate. It was finally approved, and idopted. The now rules for the control of the society were gone through seriatim, and >vith some slight and minor alterations, ■vere adopted, the meeting expressing ;hanks and appreciation, of the labour md attention the committee had bestowed upon its difficult, task. The annual subscription was fixed at ive shillings for men and two shillings md sixpence for women. Ten new nembers joined during the progress o/ Jie meeting. The election of officers was then pro:eeded with, many of the offices being ieenly contested. The following were elected:— Chief, Mr. A. B. Thomson; chieftain, Mr. White; secretary, Mr. W. Allan ; treasurer, Mr. J. L. Oli)hant Rowe; trustees, Messrs. D. U'Laren, M.p.,. and J. Collins ; audiors, Messrs. R. Reid and J. Anderson.) lommittee. Mesdames Collins. Mulcahy, tnd Messiß. Shannon, Collins, M'Millan', M'Lellan, and Foster. The meeting, which had shown en:husiasm throughout the evening, was. ;losed at 10.45 o'clock by the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
