TE HIWI CLUB.
PRESENTATION TO MR. C. HILL. S Mi^C. Parata, on behalf of the Carlton Club (Auckland), presented Mr. C Hill, president Te Hiwi Club, on Saturday with a handsome silver-mounted ebony walking slick. Mr. Hill had done much for bowling and bowlers, snid Mr. Parata— so much was well known in Wellington. It was, then, moat gratifying that one of the strongest of tho Auckland clubs should hold the president of Te nYr n V m / ? uch esteem. A letter from tho Larlton Club accompanied the stick, and m it was expressed the hope that Mr. Hill would contiuue to play bowld for many years to come, and that he would visit the Garlton green, where ho could always reply upon having a royal welcome. Mr Hill, in responding; said he was unable to adequately express how he felt the kindness of the Carltonians. 'At the Auckland tournament Te Hiwi players seemed to be general favourites, lie could not but think that the presentation was as much a compliment to the "boys" as to himself.
