MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.

* At the Missions to Seamen Institute' last evening Mr. James Moore gave an instructive lecture on "How to- act .in a sudden emergency calling for medical attention." There was a large and interested audience. The lecturer dealtchiefly with the common accidents, those likely to occur in the daily round of life, showing the methods of bandaging broken limbs, bleeding arteries, burns, etc. He also gave several useful hints relating to health ~ matters. Competitions on rescuing a person from a burni ing building and various ambulance work were held, and won by sailors from ships iin poii. A most enjoyable programme of music was provided by Miss Gow, the following contributing items : — Misses Gow, Anderson, Messrs. R. N. Wilson, Black, and Jones (s.s. Orari). The performers were given a hearty voteI of thanks.
