SPLENDID RAIN.

The funeral of the late Constable Shine took place this afternon at the Kaiori..cemejery. A short service was held at the Buckle-street Church, and the Rev. Father Kinkead officiated at ;the graveside. Two drags, containing about fifty police officers, including Inspector Ellison, Sub-Inspector Norwood, and Station-Sergeant Dc/by, followed the cortege to the burial ground. A meeting of the Pre6e Association ■was held yesterday at the offices of the association. These present were : Messrs. ' tJ.
