MASTERTON A. AND P. SHOW.

Arrangements ai'e well in hand for the Masterton autumn thow — an important agricultural fixture — which is to be held on the 14th and 15th February on the A.M. P. Society's new grounds at Sol way. Tho whole of the buildings are now out of the contractor's hands, and the appointments are reported to be in perfect order. Breeders are reminded thab entries close on Saturday next. In cattle classes there is sure to bs keen competition. For Shorthorns — a, vary popular breed ;n; n the North Island — thore are no fewer than ten classes, and lieiefords should also be strongly reP resented. As the dairying industry is assuming large proportions in the Wairarapa, the entries of Ayrshirea, Jerseys and Holstein-Fresians, will doubtless create great interest. Fut cattle are always a feature of the M?.sterton show, and this year's exhibition should prove no exception. Tho Dixon Investment Co.'s silver bowl, and the "Manawa" bowl are cmerted trophk'b in this class. Tho large number oi classes in horses need not be enumerated, and the jumping competitions scheduled are pronounced to be "a revelation to New Zealand." The champion jump prizes alone are valued at £85, which figure is said to constitute a record for the Dominion. The equestrian events are likely to attract competitors from both islands, and should contribute largely to the wiccaes pi the show,.
