OUTCOME OF A MEETING IN CANTEEBURY. CHRISTCHDRCH, 26th January. As an outcome of Mr. W. D. Lysnaa-'s address here yesterday on the conditions under which the Dominion's frozen meat
is handled at London, the president (Mr. O. F. Clothier) of the Nortii Canterbury Provincial Executive of the Farmers* Union to-day forwarded the following cable messages, replies to which are expected to-morrow : — "Town Clerk, Guildhall, London. — At a large and influential public meeting of producers held in Canterbury yesterday, the meeting unanimously agreed to support the request of the New Zealand Committee to your corporation to improve Smithfield upon all heads ; trust speedy action. — Clothier, president North Canterbury Farmers' Union." "Port of London Authority, London. — At a large and influential public meeting of producers held in Canterbury yesterday, under the auspices of the North Canterbury Farmers' Uuion, the meeting unanimously adopted the resolution already cabled to you by the Napier producers ; trust speedy action. — Clothier, president North Canterbury Farmers' Union."
