The executive of the Scottish' Society of Wellington, in its report to be 'presented at the annual meeting to-night, states that during the year thrcfc public functions were successfully carried out, and in every case & profit was realised. The executive regrets thai tho revenues has been too &ma!l to allow of its launching out in the direction of securing a room for the society's use. and it wtis a matter for the mtelirtg to consider na to whether the tim° had now conic üben the subscription should be raised, 'iho number of financial members was sniilkr than the executive could wish, and it is a matter for tho greatest urgency liuti i this state of affairs should be improved. The executive expresses appreciation of j the way in which the secretary and tr«a- ; surer (Mr. W. Allan) has carried out his i duties, and adds that the meeting will be called upon to ratify the new rules and take such cleps tc increase tho scope and usefulness of tho society as may seem wise and expedient.
