— — AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP. HARDWICK WINS THE HALFMILE. By Telegraph.— Press Association.-~Copyrlght. (Received January 26, 10.45 a.m.) ' BRISBANE, This Day. The Swimming Breast-stroke Championship of Australia, 100 yds, was won by Wickham (New South Wales), Findlay (Westralia) being second, and Mendoza (Queensland) third. Time, lmin 10 3-ssee. Afc the first attempt all the competitors were disqualified, on the ground that they did not swim square all the way, or touched with both hands. Wickham's time was lmin 13 4-5 sec. The Half-mile Championship resulted — Hardwick (New South Wales), 1 ; Longworth (New South. Wales), 2; Springfield (Queensland). 3. Time, 12min 17£ sec. Won by 6yds. Wickham made a world's record by swimming 60yds in 31sec.
