Subject to necessary alterations, mails will i close at tbe Chief Post Office as under :— For Wanganui, New Plymouth, also Hana< wa*-u, Bangitikei, and Taranaki Districts, pel ■ Mauawatu train (Thorndon Station), dailj, at : 6.30 a.m. , For Wanganui, also Manawatu and Rangitike: Districts, per Manawatu train {Thorndon Station), daily, at 3 p.m. For Wairarapa District, per "Wairarapa train (Lambton Station), daily, 0.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. -^ For Napier and Eawkes Bay District, per Manawatu train (Thorndon Station), daily, 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. For Auckland and District, also New Plymouth and Wanganui, per Main Trunk train ('Xhorndon Station), daily, at 11.15 a.m. THURSDAY, 20th JANUARY. For Blenheim, per Opuv/d. aud Blenheim, 5 p.m. For Southern Offices of New Zealand, per Mararoa, 6 p.sj, FRIDAY, 27th JANUARY. For Picton, Blenheim, French Pass, and Nelson, per Pateena, 11.50 a.m. For Ceylon, India, China, Straits Settlements, South Africa, and Continent of Europe and United Kingdom, via Brindisi (due London 3rd March), per Warrimoo, 3 p.m. For Australian States; also Lord Howe, Norfolk, and New Hebrides Islands -(due Sydney 31st inst), per Warrimoo, 3.30 p.m. Money-orders must be oouuned two hours before the advertised time of closing the mails. For Southern Offices of Ne-w Zealand, and Greymouth, Hokitika, and Eeefton; also Australian States (dne Melbourne 4th February), to connect with Moeraki at the Blufl, per Maori, C p.m. The next best despatch for Continent of Europe and United Kingdom will be via Brindisi, closing at Wellington, per Warrimoo, Friday, 27th inst., at 3 p.m. The next best despatch for Canada, United States of America, and West Indies, will be •via Harotonga, Tahiti, and San Francisco, closing at Wellington, per Main Trunk train, Friday, 10th February, at 10.30 a.m. All the principal maiis by train and steamei «lose at Te Aro and Courtenay-place Post Offices at the same hours a? at tne Chief Post Office, with the exception that there is no iate-fee clearance. Unless otherwise specified, registered letters and parcels-post packages must be handed iv and money orders obtained one hour before the ordinary mail closes. All books and sample packets and newspapers for places within the Dominion must be posted half an hour before the ordinary letter mail closes.
