TEACHING TEMPERANCE.

WALL SHEETS FOR SCHOOLS. [irK TSUIGEIPH— SFECHir. TO THE POST.] AUCKLAND, This Day. A large, wall sheet in red and blue ink, about as large as the Evening Post opened out, caused some amusement at the Auckland Education Board yesterday morning. It was accompanied by a letter from the Education Department, stating that the sheet was one of a series which it was intended to distribute to all the schools. "There is a difference of opinion about that," said Mr. Harris, when the chairman came to a paragraph setting out the fact that beer, wine, etc., were not foods, like milk. Another line which caused some mildly facetious remarks was, "Money spent on drink is money wasted." The chairman thought the board should approve the sheets being sent to the schools. "They were on the right lines, and there was no harm in letting the youngsters know the evils of drinking too much whisky." Mr. Wallace agreed that the only way to overcome the drinking habit. was. to educate the children. The board decided to thank the department for the sheets, and ask that they be sent to each school.
