MOTOR RUNS INTO A LAGOON.

PALMERSTON, 25th January. A sensational motor accident Occurred this afternoon at Awapuni. Mr. R. S. Abraham, of Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., was motoring out of Mr. Alan Strang's residence, in company with Mr. Craw, and, just as he got out of the drive, ho found another car in the road. In hastily endeavouring to put on the brakes, the accelerator was touched, and the car, in the effort to avoid the other, dashed through the bridge, and into the big lagoon, turn^ ing completely over as it did so. Fortunately, Mr. Abraham escaped with an injured hand, but Mr. Craw had a, rib broken and a bad shaking. Probably the circumstance of landing in the lagoon saved both of their lives.
