WATER EXCURSIONS.
The Union liner Maori carried some 700 excursionists to Picton yesterday by way of trie beautiful Tory Channel and Queen Charlotte Sound. Ample time v/as allowed the excursionists to exploi'e Picton and its immediate surroundingb, and the Queen's Wharf was reached at about 7 p.m The sea was quite smooth, and the run across the Straits, and back was made in perfect weather. The Harbour Ferries fleet carried between 3000 and 4000 people yesterday to Day's Bay and Rona Bay. The company put on a special boat lor Petone residents, who visited Day's Bay and its bush in large numbers.
