Newmarket Handicap, of 100 soys; five furlongs. — Lady Moutoa, 6.7, 1; Gladioli, 7.13, 2; 'Lord Soult, 9.7, 3. Also started : Ascalon. Won by six lengths. Time, lmin 1 3-ssec. January Hack 'Handicap, of 70 soys; seven furlongs. — Captain Bell, 9.2, 1 ; Attention, 8.5, 2; Waitoto, 7.0 ,3. Also started : Meroze, Brown Trout, Quick March, and Restep. Won by a length and a half. , Montoa Welter Handicap, cf 100 eovs ; one mile. — The Rover, 7.10, 1 ; Shannon Lass, 8.11, 2; Silva, 8.4. 3. Also started : Waiwareware, and Marton.
