TECHNICAL SCHOOL
BOARD MEETING. A meeting of tho Technical Education Board was hold last evening. Present: — Messrs. D. Robertson (chairman), T. Carmichael, J. G. W. Aitken, J. E. Fitzgerald, D. M'Lean, and \V. Allan. Tho financial statement to 25th of November showed a satisfactory state of affairs, there being a credit balance of £1080 18s lOd, as against a debit balance of £977 lls 8d for the corresponding period of last year. It was estimated that net funds available at the end of November would amount to £1742 18s lOd, an increase of £110 Is Id on last year's figures. Mr. Samuel Roberts, senior, was appointed instructor in graining and marbling at a salary of £40 per annum, for two nights weekly. Tho appointment was made on the suggestion of the Painters and Decorators' Board of Control. The question of a cooking class for males was raised by Mr. Allan. It wan deoided that the Marine Department and the pooka and Waiters' Union be communicated with for the purpose of ascertaining to what extent they would be prepared to assist subh a class. The annual distribution of prizes is to take place on Wednesday next. His Excellency Lord Islington is to be asked to present the prizes at the function.
