AUCTION AND PROPERTY SALES

PAWNBROKER'S SALE. Messrs. T. Kennedy Macdonald, Ltd., insert an advertisement in our auction columns of an tixtensivo auction sale of £1500 worth of unredeemed pledges on account of Mr. Walter Smart, pawnbroker, 97, Willis-street. Included in this long list of pledges are four new upright grand pianos by Spencer, and these with all the rest of the jewellery are to be sold absolutely without reserve. Tho sal© 'will take place' on Wednesday and Thursday next, commencing at 2 o'clock each day. The same firm advertise particulars of several auction sales which they are holding next week. On Monday next they will continue tho auction sale of £1000 worth of jewellery, including diamond rings, bracelets, watches, clocka, etc., by order of the Assets Realisation Company. The goods will be on view from 9.30 o'clock on morning of sale; they are all for absolute sale. On Tuesday, in their rooms, they will hold their weekly sale, and dispose of >& lot or household furniture; also under distraint for rent they will sell an upright grand piano by Collinson. On the same day, at 1.30 o'clock, on the premises, No. 149, Owen-street, they will sell household furniture, mirror-back sideboard and effects on account of the owner who is leaving Wellington, and on Friday, on the premises, No. 90, Pirie-street, they will hold a sale of household furniture and effects. Messrs. J. H. Bethune and Company advertise in this issue particulars of coming sales to be held by them. Next Wednesday, at 2.30 p.m., at their rooms, under instructions from Mr. J. L. Morrison, they are offering a block of business sites at Petone. The land has frontages of 170 ft to Jackson-street, 16ft 6in to corner, 253 ft 6in to Hutt-road, and 178tt 6in to Kelly's-lane. Oil Monday, 19th inst., at 2.30 p.m., at their rooms, under instructions from the Registrar of the Supreme Court, they are submitting a residential property in Tinakori-road. This comprises freehold land having a frontage of 30ft by a depth of 46ft, on which stands the six-roomed dwellinghouse, No. 132,, with outbuildings. Messrs. Bethune and Company insert an amended list of business and residential properties which they have on their books for private sale; also a number of houses to let, both furnished and unfurnished. Messrs. W. rl. Turnbull and Company advertise particulars of several properties they have for sale, including a property in Thorndon on a corner section, described as a good home; a house in Oriental Bay, and a cottage at Wadestown close to the tram terminus. The firm also advertise particulars ol' a seaside residence at Rona 1 Bay, and several sections at Plimmerton. Thoee sections range in price from £25 to £50, and are being sold on a deposit of £5. Biggs deceased, consisting of section 56 x 132 ft, with dwellings, will be offered for sale on Thursday, the 21st December, at 2.30 p.m. A property situate Brougham-street and another near the Hataitai tunnel are also advertised for private Bale. Harcourt and Co. will sell by auction at their rooms, 195, Lambtonquay, on Monday, 12th December, at 2.30 p.m., two sections in Bloomfield-terrace, being lots 18 and 19, on deposited plan 1634, having a frontage of 50ft each to Bloomneld-terrace. Tho sections are the property of the Hon. E. Mulcahy, of Hobart, Tasmania. On Thursday, 15th inst., at 2.30 p.m., Messrs.
