4 PALMERSTON NORTH. [BX TELEGRAPH— SPECIAL TO THE POST.] ' PALMERSTON N., This Day. The A. and P. Association wrote to the Kairanga County Council asking it to subsidise a class lor exhibitors showing eggs at the show. The matter was considered at a meeting oi tho council yesterday, and £3 granted towards the proposed class. Ihe death occurred somewhat suddenly in a private hospital at Palmerston North yesterday of Mr. Patrick Nesdale, a well-known settler of Kimbolton. The late Mr. Nesdale, who was fortyiive year* of ukw settled in the Kimbolton district about twenty years ago, and during his long residence there huj, made many friends. He was also well known in Palmerston and was a nephew of Eev. Father M'Manus, at one time parish priest here. Mr. Nesdale leaves a wife and a family of twelvo young children. The central division of district boy scouts are at present encamped at Hokowhitu, and, in spite of the rain that has fallen, are doing good work in preparation for the coming scout tournament. They remain in camp till next Friday week." Quite a township has formed at Manawatu Heads, Foxtcn, and during the summer months this is a popular and pleasant week-end resort. The latest movement is to raise funds for the erection of a small Anglican church there.
