RAILWAY SERVANTS' SOCIETIES
ANOTHER PROTEST. [BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] OAMARU, This Day. The Oamajru branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants laet night unaai'imously adopted the following resolution : — "This branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants emphatically protests against the proposed recognition 'of the Drivers and firemen's Association upon the grounds, as stated by the chairman of the Railway Parliamentary Committee, that it would be detrimental to the best interests of the employees as a whole, and also to the department, as it would ii> yolve a. further loss in time and money in multiplying conferences, etc. ; and last, but not least, that theire is not the slighibest necessity for a separate society for the Locomotive Department, as it had a preponderating representation upon all the conferencea and executive councils since the first formation of the present society."
