PETONE TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
- «. A meeting of the Petone Technical School Board held last evening was attended by Mr. Thomson (chairman) and Messrs. Duncan, Trueman, Jones, Castle, M'Ewan, Findluy, and M'Kenzie. On the recommendation of the director (Mr. Lynskey) it wae decided to 6et up a sub-committee to revise the syllabus, and aUo ro deal with other matters. Messrs. - Thompson, Castle, and M'Kenzie were ap- '"' pointed the sub-committee. '-■* It was reported that the average at- "■ tendance of pupils was at present 234 — » an increase of 30, compared with the pre- "; ceding quarter. ; It was decided, on Mr. M'Kenzie's motion, that no entrance fee should bo ' charged to junior and senior free-place * pupils attending the school; and that, in lieu thereof, parents should sign a guarantee form for the regular attendance of pupils, and, in the event of their failing to earn" capitation allowance (except, only - on account of sickness or removal "from the district), tho parents should undertake < to pay the fees to the board.
