Company, Ltd., has concluded. Th« . jury returned a verdict of guilty, witK a recommendation to mercy. Mr. Justice Burnside said the priso. ner backed up serious frauds with perjury, and sentenced him to five years*' imprisonment with hard labour. [Black was accountant for Freedmao and Co. At his trial he made remarkable charges against members of the firm. H« charged some of' them with stealing goods, and said that the money he waa accused of taking was taken by a menv ber of the firm, who directed him to make the necessary alteration in tha books.]
