TOBACCONISTS' CONFERENCE
A conference of tobacconists was opened this, morning in Mr. H. i ? . Allen's office Mr. J. B. Speed presided, and there were delegates present from all parts of New Zealand. The meeting wan not open to the press. The whole of the morning was occupied in discus&ing the proposal to form a New Zealand Association of Tobacconists, and arranging for a deputation to wait on the Hon. J. A. Millar to place before him mattars of importance fco the trade. The delegates lunched at the Grand Hotel, and continued their meeting this afternoon.
