FIRST ROUND. Time was called at 2.44. Johnson landed first, with short blow* on tho face. The men clinched during most of the round, which was tame. Johnson was smiling, and Jeffries landed! his right to the stomach. SECOND AND , THIRD ROUNDS. In the second round, Johnson retaliate^ with two uppetcuts, and in the third! Johnson landed several on the £ace 4 Johnson was now leading on points. FIRST BLOOD. Jeffries got first blood in the fourth! round. Johnson returned' the complimenti with a left to the mouth, andi Jeffriea then forced the negro against the ropeq with several short punches. JEFFRIES CUT. In the fifth round, the men exchanged! sharp blows, Johnson cutting Jeffries't lip. They eased off after a clinch. Bothi were bleeding. CAUTION BEING SHOWN. The pair resumed the battle with cam I tion in the sixth round. The negro) showed to greater advantage than hi§ opponent, his blows landing frequently., He drew blood from Jeffries's nose, and! closed his right eye. This was John* son's round. He landed repeatedly oit Jeffries's sore face and eye, and gavg . uppercute on th© jaw. ■ JOHNSON AGGRESSIVE. Johnson was the aggressor in th«i seventh and eighth rounds. Jeffriea landed two to the face. It was a taraq goIn Tound nine Johnson landed hard and frequently. It was Johnson's round. Jeffries was bleeding freely. CLINCHING, IN-FIGHTING AND WRESTLING. There was little life shown at the opening of the tenth round. There was a- long clinch, with in-fighting and " wres* tling. Johnson landed often. In the eleventh Jeffries landed hard* He waa fighting wildly. Johnson landed often. It was his round. JOHNSON JOLTS JEFFRIES. Johnson, in the twelfth round, hitl Jeffries on the mouth pretty often.; Jeffries was bleeding very much. John* son, with a heavy jolt, cent Jeffries's bead back a foot. KNOCKED OUT. .
