The Financial Timer in discussing the criticism by some shareholders in Australian banks, that the banks ought to increase their dividends, says the critics fail to appreciate the advantages of the continuous policy of the directors. They overlook particularly the crisis of 1908, when the Australian banks greatly increased their prestige by financing the market. . The directors of some banks are reto be discussing the matter, and it is probable that the dividends will be gradually increased.
