King George, through the Homb Secretary (Mr. Winston Churchill), in a letter addressed to "my people," acknowledges the voice of affection and loving devotion to his father's memory received from every part of the Empire. The letter continues :—: — "The sentiments evoked by the sorrow was so sudden and unlcoked for that it made me realise the loss was a common one for me and my people. I therefore take courage, and hopefully look to the future, strong in my faith in God, trusting the people, and cherishing the laws and constitution of my beloved country." IRISH LEADER'S TRIBUTE. (Received May 23, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, 22nd May. Speaking at Cork, at the great gathering of Nationalists, Mr. John Redmond (chairman of the Nationalist Parliamentary party) paid a tribute to the memory of the late King Edward. ON THE OCCASION OF THE v ACCESSION. REMISSION OF SENTENCES. (Received May 23, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, 22nd May. On the occasion of the Accession of King George, various, remissions of sentences will be announced.
