RECENT SMALLPOX OUTBREAK
SHIP'S DOCTOR PROSECUTED. By Telecraph.— Press Association.- Copyrlgnt. PERTH, 12th May. The doctor of the steamer Otway is being proceeded against for failure t« detect small-pox in a patient, which case was followed by a, serious outbreak of the disease. ' The health officer, in his evidence, alleges that if a proper examination ot the case (a boy) had been made, the doctor could not have failed to diagnose emall-pox.
