BAIN v SCOTT. Wednesday evening, 13th April, at the Wellington Opera Hou?«>. are the date and place of the wrestling contest between Scott, the New Zealand champion, and Bain, the Scottish champion, and Lite wrestling partner of the mighty Hackenschmidt. Scotl and Bain aro wrestling for £50 a-side and the New Zealand championship. In addition to the championship contest, Gar-diner, an English champion, will be pitted against Sarah, tho Auckland welter crack, and' there will be a corn petit ion for the championship of Wellington antl district, 'the winner of which will receive a handsome silver cup." Entries close on Wednesday next.
Fishermen at the Thames are complaining that the cuttings of hedges which are thrown into the river by the local farmers are carried into th^ fishing nets and tear them considerably. The Harbour Board is asking the settlers not tfi deposit any more cuttings in the river.
