AUCKLAND, 7th April. In answer to his cablegram concerning the prosperts of the resumption of the San Francisco service in the event of Congress passing the Subsidy Bill, Mr. J. H. Gunson (ptesidont of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce) has I received a message from Mr. J. D. Spreckels, of the Oceanic Steamship J Company, to tho effect that the matter of route ii nd ports of call between the United States and Australasia would be a question of arrangements between tho highest bidder and tho Postal authoiities. Mr. Spreckels expresses doubt whether the Bill will pass into law.
