Cheron, Under-Secretary of tho Navy, boarded the various mail boats in Marseilles, and exhorted the crews not to abandon the vessels. Two mail steamers then sailed. The Government is arranging that destroyers shall carry the Tunis and Algiers mails. Efforts are being made to securethe departure of the steamer Caledonien for Australia to-day The Compaguie-Transatlantique has, howovei, ceased to issue tickets to intending passengers.
