A Press Association message from Auckland advises that the Hauroto, from southern ports, arrived on Saturday after a stormy passage from Napier. She -was unable to call at ' Gisborne. The vessel encountered tremendous seas, and one wave stove in the saloon door and caused minor damage in the pantry. The trip from Xapier occupied 00 hours. OPAWA, FROM LONDON. A message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the cargo steamer Opawi, which left London for Auckland on the Sth March, passed the Cape of Good Hope on the 20th. The steamer is due at the northern port about the 22nd inst. NIWARU DELAYED. The local agents for the Tyser line advise that the Ni«aru, from London via Australia and Auckland, has been delayed at Napier owing to the recent heavy weather, and in consequence is not expected to sail for Wellington till this afternoon.
