From Bluff— l27o bales wool and sheepskins, 452 sacks fescue, 280 sacks oats, 2 bales horsehair, 52 casks pelts, 478 casks tallow, 752 cases preserved meats, also a few o'thcr lines Owing to the extraordinary force of the recent south-east gale the steamer Kiripaka, which left here on Tuesday last for Patea, was unable to approach the latter place, and at 6 o'clock last evening she turned up unexpectedly at Onehunga. She put in short of coal, and reported a strong current in the vicinity of the Patea bar. The Kamona ia expected to leave Greymouth -to-night with coal for Wellington and Napier. The Kotuku has practically completed her overhaul, and was to be rccomminsioned today. She will leave for Greymouth to enter the coal trade. The Union Company's Flora left Auckland at 5 p.m. yesterday for East Coast bay*. Captain Stenbeck is in command of the Rob Roy, lately owned by Mr. Perano, of Picton. The steamer was to have left Auckland for Samoa on Thursday. Mr. E. Shaw, formerly mate on Government steamers, and lately of the Anchor Company's bervke, left last night by the Ulimaroa for Sydney. The Maoriland Company's steamer Ennerdale is to leaie Auckland for Greymouth at noon to-day. The Monowai, which arrived here fr*n Auckland, Gisborne, aud Napier this morning, will sail at 5 p.m. for Lyttelton and Dnncdin. In order to pick up her running the vessel will work Lyttelton to-morrow. The Navua, which arrived yesterday afternoon from Suva via Auckland, had a tempestuous experience on the coast. The southeasterly gale was encountered soon after leaving Auckland, and mountainous seas assailed the vessel. Bhe was compelled to put into Kawakawa for shelter, and remained at anchor for seven hours on Wednesday night. Heavy weather continued till 10 p.m. on Thursday. Captain W. J. Carey, late chief officer of the Kurow, has been appointed master of the Kotuku. He arrived from Lyttelton by* the Mararoa this morning. The Union Company's steamer Waihora left Newcastle on Thursday night with a cargo of coal for Wellington and Lyttelton. The collier sliould arrive here on Wednesday morning. The Blackball Coal Company's collier Petone arrived In Wellington from Greymouth this morning. The vessel will return to-night to Greymouth to load co»l for Napier. The Ngahere is due at Wellington next Wednesday morning with a coal cargo from Greymouth. The Westport Harbour Board's dredge Eileen Ward was drawn on the Wellington Patent Slip yesterday for Government inspection and overhaul. She will be brought round to the wharf on Tuesday, when her boilers will be inspected. The dredge will probably sail tie following day for Westport in charge of Captain Simpson. Mr. J. Luke, third officer of the Ulimaroa. has rejoined his vessel after absence on holiday leave. The fourth officer of the Ulimaroa (Mr. W. Scbolfield) hat been transferred to the Moorabool as third. Captain Foulis cas resumed command of the latter vessel. Next week the collier Kaiapol will probably load a shipment of coal at Westport, to be delivered to the Admiralty at Sydney. A cable message has been received by Messrs A. H. Turnbull and Co., of Christchurcb, owners of the barque Banknelds, from Captain Woebling. stating that the vessel arrived at Vancouver on Wednesday from Fiji. The Bankflelds, which was laden with sugar, made the passage from Fiji to Vancouver in 58 daji. After discharging she will load timber at Van. comer for Ljttelton.
