WELLINGTON TRADE.

The statistics of exports and imports to and from the port of Wellington during the quarter ending 31st March, afford interesting reading when compared with the figures for 1909. Expoiits haveincrea,sed by .nearly 20 per cent., whereas imports havo decreased in almost an equal proportion. Following are tho c figures :— Exports— l9lo : £2;C84,488 ; 1909 : £1,674,601. Imports : 1910 : £995,813 ; 1909 : £1,257,705. OJhp imports for the first quarter of 1909 included £222,000 more specie than in the corresponding quarter of 1910. The imports to Wellington included £1319 worth from Cook Islands and £694,621 worth from the United Kingdom, as against £1679 and £782,790, the corresponding figures for 1909. The value* of imports from the East Coast of the United- States was £75,762* in 1910,. as compared with £72,444 for the- samequarter of 1909.
