OIL FUEL.

TO BE USED BY NEW DESTROYERS. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 31st March. The Admiralty has invited tenders for fourteen destroyers of the existing Eattem, and six ocean-going destroyers urning liquid fuel. Under the 1909 programme, there are being built twenty destroyers of the Acorn class, steaming 29 knots, and equipped to burn oil. Seventeen of these will be fitted with Parsons turbines and three with Curtis turbines. Th<>ir displacement will be about 1000 tons. Mr. M'Kenna, First Lord of the Admiralty, recently stated that the Admiralty 'intended to use oil fuel in greater quantities, and had taken steps to secure supplies from independent sources.
