THE MAYORALTY.

A meeting was held at Brooklyn last night, called by supporters of Mr. Wilford to favour his candidature for the mayoralty. A -working committee, with a permanent chairman and secretary, were appointed. Mr. Wilford was present, and intimated that Mrs. (Dr.) Wilford and his sister, Mise Winnifred Wilford, had arrived from Wangamii to help him, and that they would take ail active part in the election. The date of Mr. Wilford's opening address was settled, and will be duly advertised. • Last night £ number of ladies met in the ST.M.G.A. rooms-to discuss arrangement€ for forwarding Mr. C. J. Crawford'a candidature. Air. Crawford, who had to attend' a. meeting of the Miramar Borough Council, was unable to be present, and an apology for absence was also received from Mrs. Newman. Mrs W. J. Williams presided, and Mrs. Crawford was present. A committee was formed, and arrangements made for a« active campaign.
