CROWN LANDS BALLOT.
i The Commissioner for Crown LjuUf, Wellington district (Mr. Jas. Mackenzie), conducted a ballot yesterday for a block of 2000 aues, in the Ruahine survey dii--trict. The land is situated 14 mile* east of Mangaweka, and is described as tec ond-clat-s land. The caxh purchase price «v*s £2250; half-yearly rental O.K.I 1 ., £56 5s ; half-yearly rental, onreneMable lease, £45. The section fell to James SiJitb, of Manga weka. Time were twelve applicant*.
