FOOTBALL.
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. MANAGEMENT~~COMMITTEE. The Management Committee of tbn Wellington Football Association met last evening at tho V.M.C.A. Rooms, those present being — M«n«rs. H. N. Holmes (in the chair), J. M. Olher, W. Wood, B. L. Salmon, J. Davidson, H. Mayer, J W. Auld, and A. Williams (secretary). With regard to the allocation of grounds for the ensuing season, it was reported that no reply had yet been received from the Reserve* Committee of the council on Use matter. During a discussion a* to the date for starting the league contests, it was stated that several clubs were hardly in a position to enter the competition at j present, and it ww resolved that tho j dale be deferred for one week, viz., from the 9th to the 16th April. It was resolved that closing of the entries for the championship contests be ' postponed till Tuesday next, the sth April. It was reported that the number of entries so far received were 54 — 49 for the Saturday competitions, and 5 Wednesday teams, with a probability of a number of others coming in. Permission was granted the Webbstreet Primitive Methodist Church Club to enter a team in the senior league i second division contest. With regard to the difficulty of obtaining a ground at Petone, il was decided that the association guarantee £5 towards the cost.
