FIRES.

[BX TELEGRAPH — rHBSS ASSOCIATION.] GISBORNE, 30th March. A destructive lire broke out in Glad-stono-road at 8.15 to-night. It started at the back of the drapery store of P. Hallam, and went to an empty doubleatory building on one side, md to a small laundry on the other side. There was a high wind and rain, but an intervening brick wall saved the fire from catching a large two-storied wooden flioji and the premises of Mr. Hall. The drapery store and laundry business were completely burnt out, only the walls being left standing. The buildings were insured, but neither of the shops' contents. The amount of insurance is unobtainable. PALMERSTON N., This Day. A fire broke out at 12.60 this morning in rooms in the Square, occupied by Mr. A. V. Burnard, dentist. When discovered, the fire had burnt through three rooms to the stairway. Thero was a gale blowing, but the brigade got the fire under before it obtained a good hold. Tha outbreak occurred apparently in some shavings in the workroom, and sproad along the joists in the side of the wall. The building was insured for £425 in the Alliance. On 14th' March an outbreak occurred in the same rooms, but was extinguished after some slight damage had been done.
