THE ALLEGED MURDERER. A VICIOUS RECORD. "THIRD DEGREE.^' By Telegraph.— Press Association.- Copyright. NEW YORK, 29th March. Wolter, charged with the murder of Rose Wheeler, has a vicious record. He was engaged, as head of a gang of youths, in the White Slave traffic. Though subjected to a thirty -six hours' examination in the third degreo (namely, awakened every hour and confronted with proofs of the crime), ho declines to admit seeing Wheeler. There are indications that before strangling the victim, the murderer throw her on the fire. Kate Muller, who lived with Wolter, confessed that he was excited on Friday. She heard a crash and sounds like a falling body. Wolter enjoined her to retarn to bed, threatening to strangle her. [Tho first messages received gave- the name of the supposed murderer as Poltcr. Tho woman Muller has been arrested as an accessory.]
