MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
( The business cf the Magistrate's Couit this morning was disposed of in a very short time. The charge-sheet consisted oij| three entries, for each of which intemperance was responsible. The trio of inebriates were dealt with as first offenders. The only one who appeared before Mr. W. R. Haseldeo, S.M., was an elderly woman, who had been in the police cells all night. She was convicted and discharged. The other two were out on bail, and did not appear. Each was fined ss, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. Mr. Horace Baker, J.P., presided at the Mount Cook Police Court this morning, when cases of drunkenness were dealt with as follow: — Clarence O'Donohue, fined 5s or twenty-four hour»' imprisonment ; Mary M'Mahon, fined 10s or forty-eight hours' imprisonment. Four first offenders were convicted and discharged. John Mickehon and Mary Hal ford were charged with drunkenness and disorderly behaviour ; each was fined £5, with the option cf one month's impiisonment.
