NUMBER OF LIVES LOST.
EXPLOSION OF BENZINE. FIFTEEN BODIES RECOVERED. By Telegraph. — Press Association.— Copyright. NEW YORK, 26th March. A fire, following upon an explosion of benzine, caused the loss of a number of lives at- Chicago. The explosion set fire to Fish's large furniture shop, a ten-story building, ani a number of the occupants attempted to save their lives by jumping from the windows. Fifteen dead bodies, including five of those who leaped from the windows, have been recovered.
