METHODIST YOUNG WOMEN. DISTRICT CONVENTION.
A district camp in connection with the Wellington District M.Y.W.B.C- Union has been held in the city during tho Easter holidays. About twenty-five delegates from all parts of Wellington province assembled in the Tarftnfki-stVe'efc class-room on Good Friday' morning," and were present at" the church service conducted by the Rev. S. J. Serpell, after which they adjourned for luncheon pro vided by the Wellington, city classes. In the absence of the union's president, Miss Boxall, a hearty welcome was extended to the visitors by Mrs. *V. J. Williams, Mr. Joll, of Waitara, responding. The, session was continued in the aftemooon, when two papers were contributed by district classes on "Women's Influence," and "The Source of the Master's Power/ A brisk discussion followed each reading, and Miss Luke gave a recitation. At a large mass meeting held in the Taranaki-street Church in the evening, the chair was occupied by Mrs. W. J. Williams, acting-president. Addresses were given by Rev*>. W. J. Williams and A. J. Seamer, the former speaking of the responsibilities and blessings of the "Daughters of the King;" the latter basing his remarks on Maori mission work. Musical items were contributed by Misses Brit tain, Dawson, and Mueller, and Mr. Phipps, and a recitation by Mies M'Donald. On Saturday -morning, delegates and members reassembled to answer to the roll-call, and report on the progress* and work of the various classes throughout the district. It- was most encouraging to hear of the splendid enthusiasm which' the individual classes have displayed during the past year. Mr. T. Ralph presided, and a paper was read on "The Ideal Bible class Girl." A spirited debate on the various means to improve Bible-clacs methods followed. Yesterday morning a short service was held on the top of Mount Victoria. The convention practically closed yesterday afternoon with a meeting in Taranakistreet Church, when addresses were given by Sifrters May and Huia. Miss Dawson sang, and the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper was administered. This evening the visitors will be entertained at Trinity Church, Newtown.
