♦ WELLINGTON v. WAIRARAPA. At Carterton on Saturday afternoon the retntn match between the Wellington and Wuiraiapa Bowling Centres was played off. Tho Wellington centre was represented by the following seven rinks— eight were originally picked, but tho Hutt Club's team did not make thejourney: — Victoria: Higgins, Guise, Stevens, Hemingway (skip). Knrori : Cook, Campbell, Dryden, Bennett («kip). Johnsonyille : Rod, Wackrow, Orr, Taplin (skip). Petonc : CnsUe*. Reed, Henry, Carter (skip). Wellington : Ert-kine, Tanner, Geo. Brown, Chvrchward (skip). Wellington : Crane, Pryor, Brunekill, Porteou* (*kip). Newtown : Martin, Campbell. Ramsay, J. J. Roberts (skip). The visitors from town speak in high terms, of the arrangements made by the Wairarapa club*, and a most enjoyable day was i>pent at Carterton. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies of the local country clot). The green was in good order. At the conclusion of the match, the secretary of the visiting teams suitsblv acknowledged the hospitality of the Valley clubs, and in the course of his reply, Mr. Udy said he hoped this match would now become an annual fixture. The play resulted in a win for the visitors by 168 to 124. DIAMOND BUCKLES. The Wellington Club's representatives, Messrs. Hildreth and Bellinger, won the contest for the Diamond Buckles from Victoria (Redstone and Norwood), the scores being 18 and 6 respectively. VICTORIA CLUB.
