PETONE FIRE BOARD.
Messrs. J. W. M'Ewan (chairman), R. Mothes, J. J. Mallard, R. W. Short, and C. Pearce attended Thursday after- j noon's meeting of the Petone Fire Board An offer by the borough engineer of £3 10s for a disused water-engine was accepted. The brigaae superintendent reported in regard to the local public halls, and it was decided to forward them to the Borough Council beforo any licenses were issued. It was decided that the fire station doors should be left open in future. An agreement with Mr. J. Gaynor for the hire of a hone, hose and ladder
